Finance, Money Matters Or Debt:

Money should be going well (or be about to go well for you ) when The reversed Three of Coins is part of your spread. However, you need to not just expect ‘pennies from heaven.’ How well you do financially will be in direct proportion to how hard you have worked and how much you have tried. Don’t grovel, but do ask for what you deserve.

Card Meanings: Poor Work Ethic, Lack Of Effort, Lack Of Growth, Unwillingness To Learn, Apathy, No Goals, Not Learning From Mistakes, No Dedication, No Determination, Lack Of Teamwork, No Motivation, Ambitions, Lack Of Commitment, Mistakes, Preoccupation

The Three of Coins is a very positive card, particularly with regard to work and career questions, but it’s a good overall omen that you are in general, doing well.

Reversed Cards: When things aren’t going well, everyone wants to blame Mercury retrograde, even if it’s not a Mercury retrograde cycle. Well, guess what? This time you do get to blame Mercury. In this aspect, we see Mercury mixing its signals when it comes to money, health, and resources. This can prove deeply frustrating, especially when you seem to fall short of your expectations, but just like every Mercury retrograde cycle, this reversal of the Ten of Pentacles won’t last long. Soon you will see that this shortfall was actually a blessing.

Creative Tarot: Looking at just the cards, an order seemed obvious, and that was the numerical order. We start with the Three of Coins, which does indicate the beginning of a large project, and move toward the Nine of Coins, which is achievement. We start off trying to build something new with the Three of Coins, we suffer a setback with the Five of Coins, we recover with the help of the love of the Six of Cups, we patiently endure the work of the Seven of Coins, and then with the Nine of Coins, we achieve completion. Drawing all Coins, save one, was a surprise, and yet it helped me see that the essays were cohesive—nothing startled me as being obviously out of place. And if you draw mostly cards of the same suit or the same number but with the Devil thrown in the mix, seemingly out of nowhere, it might be helpful to see if that section should be there at all.

Tarot Triumphs: Rather than doing a random reading here, it’s probably more helpful if I just give some deliberately chosen examples. For instance, the Tower could mean a sudden change, loss, or even an accident if placed in the upper half of the reading, or a dramatic shift of viewpoint from the internal perspective in the lower half. Other cards may not be so marked in their effects: the Fool as a transitional could simplify signify time to be moving on, without regret, and the Lover could mark the moment of putting a decision into practice, perhaps one that has been pending for a while. The Tarot Trump Strength might signify that change has or will come about through using effort in the right way, perhaps achieving good results through a more gentle approach.

Reversed Cards: In this chapter you will find spreads and spells designed for deliberately reversed cards. I want you to get comfortable with using upside-down cards. I want you to seek them out and use them as allies, friends, and part of your magical support team. I have deliberately not listed crystals, candles, incense, or other altar items for the spells because I find the addition of objects to spellwork to be an intuitive process. Add what you feel you need to your altar while casting your spell. This will make the ritual personal and connect you physically with the casting process.
