Romance, Love Or Relationships:
When the Hermit shows in reverse, it still indicates that it’s possible that a romance from your past will be re-kindled. You should ask yourself whether that is really what you want? If you are thinking that you want nothing more than a romantic relationship; look at your behavior. Does it align with that analysis? Are you making a point to meet people, to reach out, to make yourself available for a relationship? When the card appears in reverse and you are already in a committed relationship, its important that you make a point to spend time, energy and attention on each other, no matter how busy you are.
Card Meanings: Hastiness, Withdrawal, Rashness, Paranoia, Isolation, Foolishness, Immaturity, Loneliness, Imprudence, being reclusive, Restrictive, Anti-Social
The Hermit is an extremely spiritual card, and often has to do with institutions and large organizations – everything from a bank to the entire Christian Church. This card indicates spirituality even if you are an atheist. It’s in whatever sense the word ‘spirit’ makes sense to you, even if for you ‘spirit’ equates to ’emotion.’ You may be trying hard to figure out what the ‘truth’ is about someone (or some matter), don’t feel that you have to do it all on your own, ask for help if you need it to gain different perspectives, more information, etc.

Elements of the Psychic World: During the early to mid-twentieth century a number of other phenomena have been reported at the house, including phantom footsteps, moans, smells of phantom food cooking in the kitchen, ghostly shapes flitting through the garden and walking up and down the staircase and thumping within the walls. The wall thumping is attributed to a legend that during the war of 1812 a soldier killed his slave-girl lover and interred her body in a wall. Another legend

Angel Encyclopedia: The Christian monastic traditionthe withdrawal from the world in order to dedicate ones life to God developed in the early centuries after the death of Jesus. St. Pachomius was a fourth-century Egyptian Copt who, after his conversion to Christianity while in the Roman army, spent years in retreat with another hermit. He was praying alone in the desert of Tabenna when an angelic figure spoke to him and told him to found a monastery according to the rule the angel would give. His companion helped him to build what would become the first Christian cloister. A wall surrounded the humble structure as a symbol of the monks separation from the world, and no stranger was allowed beyond a certain point, leaving ‘the inner sanctum’ unsullied. Pachomiuss ‘Angelic Rule,’ one?
Creative Tarot: While the Death card does not mean the obviousyou are totally going to die this week (unless you forward this tarot card to seven friends in the next twenty-four hours)it is an ending. Death has a tendency to show up at the end of relationships, the end of jobs, anytime you transition into a new identity or stage of life. It has shown up once or twice for my clients right before weddings, which tends to freak out the brides. But, I point out, your life as a single woman is dying, and a new way of being is beginning, so the card is appropriate. Just not the cheeriest of messengers.
