Career, Work Or Retirement:
Nothing much may seem to be happening, and you may well be sick of it. This is a great time to figure out if there is anything that you personally can do about it, if this is the case, and if there is not an action that you can take, then try not to take the slowness of the wheels of change personally. Things will change. It just may not happen on your timetable. Relax, or else look for different work.
Card Meanings: Boredom, Feeling Trapped, Rebirth, Confined, Uncertainty, Lack Of Direction, Self-Limiting, Reversal, Change, Needing Release, Improvement, Suspension
The Hanged Man generally shows that you are at a crossroads – one with only two options i.e. in or out, up or down, yes or no. You may find yourself very much wanting to do ‘something’ but having no idea what it is or how to do it. If that happens, that’s a clear sign that you should stop, relax, and look at ways that you might need to let go of attempts to control life/situations/people/things.

Portable Magic: Triangle: In traditional ceremonial magic, the triangle is where spirits are evoked, or called forth into manifest existence. The triangle of realization in Tarot magic is the place where the ritual purpose is realized. It is constructed outside the bounds of the circle from the three elemental trumps the Fool (Air), the Hanged Man (Water), and Judgement (Fire). The point at the apex of the triangle, defined by the Fool, is opened during ritual to create a doorway connecting the desire of the magician within the circle with the realization of that desire within the triangle, and by extension the greater world.
Tarot Triumphs: If you are confident in using the layouts for card readings, you could also consider devising a layout of your own. This is a path that others have trodden, so I can’t pretend it’s an original idea; one of my correspondents refers to a book that contains 122 layouts!3 Some layouts are designed with particular packs in mind, or for use with the entire Tarot deck of seventy-eight cards, including minor suits. If you wish to create a design for the Major Trumps only, your options may be more limited—but also, perhaps, more interesting. Consider the following questions and suggestions:

Tarot for Beginners: Reversed, the Hanged Man may indicate that it is you who is causing the immobility. You may be avoiding making a life-changing decision for fear of the initial discomfort it will cause. Fear of change is very powerful, even when we know the change will ultimately lead to better circumstances. Beware of betraying yourself in the effort to stay in your comfort zone.
