Romance, Love Or Relationships:

The Ten of Disks is a very happy indicator with regard to love. If you are currently committed, this card can mean that you will move to the next level; living together, engagement, marriage, childbirth, all can be indicated by this card. For a time, you are likely to have a peaceful, happy period in your love life. Enjoy it, and make sure your beloved knows how much they mean to you. If you’re not in a relationship, this card can mean that a new love may come into your life so fast it makes your head spin. Be open.

Here are some snippets from a few of my favorite books

Book Details
Complete Book of Tarot: When upright, the Eight of Swords suggests that you are feeling trapped or hemmed in by circumstances. Some of these restrictions may be of your own making and others may be due to the interference of unforeseen events. You tend to over-think situations and to inhibit yourself though limiting beliefs, excessive self-blame, or surrendering your power to others. You may be suffering from the paralysis of analysis. Now is the time to take off your blindfold and take a good look around you. Freedom is within your grasp. Consider the words of poet Richard Lovelace (1642): ‘Stone walls do not a prison make nor iron bars a cage.’

Complete Book of Tarot: Card 6 points to something that will occur in the near future that is related to the issue at hand.

Complete Book of Tarot: Lay out these cards and note any qualities they have in common. Do they share any symbolism with the wind blowing through the sky or a tornado devastating the earth below? Repeat this exercise after you have studied the suit of Swords. Record your observations in your tarot notebook.

Tarot Triumphs: The imagery I refer to in the descriptions that follow is that of the traditional Marseilles Tarot Triumphs. The main pack that I use here is the Grimaud deck (republished c. 1969), but I have referred widely to reproductions of other historic packs in my possession, especially the Conver deck of 1761, the Pierre Madénie from Dijon 1709, an eighteenth-century Italian Bologna pack, and the Golden Tarot version of the Visconti-Sforza fifteenth-century deck. I have also studied a multitude of digital images of historical Tarot packs, mostly sourced from the British Museum, including the so-called Charles VI pack in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the important 1650 Vieville set.2
