This is a powerful and hopeful card, promising energy, action and progress. One of the very important inner aspects of the Page of Wands is the function in allowing us to leave old fears behind. The Page of Wands represents the freedom we gain when we release old restrictions and habits, in order to forge forward into a future which is shaped more by ourselves, and less by outdated environments, and outmoded concepts. We often find, when we examine our motives and attitudes thoroughly, that somehow we have collected lots of emotional ‘garbage’ along the way. Sometimes we do not even realise this exists; other times we know these problems exist, but rarely take the time to examine how they affect us, what they deny us, how we limit ourselves by failing to clean them out.
So on a day ruled by Page of Wands, we need to select one of our fears or habits, and really subject it to careful scrutiny. This limits the fuel for the other fire and the distance it can travel, and the technique is utilized to restrict the damage a wildfire can cause. Think of this card the same way. But with a little back burning to create a nice barrier around you, the page, and all you are working to create, you have space to make mistakes. Reversed Cards: Here in the mirror aspect of the Seven of Swords, we get a chance to stop, slow down, and think about all those swords dancing around in our heads. Reversed Cards: A mirror image is really what a reversal is, as it is the same as the upright image yet with a different orientation. Left becomes right, right becomes left, and everything seems similar but feels completely different. Obviously, this term comes from the reflection we see of ourselves in an actual mirror, but it can be seen in water or these days via webcam. Being on a live stream is always disconcerting to me; I really do get a little weirded out by the mirror image I have to look at while I am doing online events. This slight shift to the perception of our reality is sometimes all an upside-down card can be showing.
