Romance, Love Or Relationships:

With reversed Judgment, this can still be a make-or-break period for an existing relationship. You, and the people around you, may be in the process of changing. Don’t cling tightly to the status quo. If you are looking for love, or you draw Judgment reversed regarding someone you have your eye on, a new relationship may well come about in the near future. Still, you may need to take steps to make sure that you aren’t leaping to conclusions (positive or negative) about your new love and/or vice versa. Slow and steady wins the race.

Judgment or Rejuvenation is another of those cards which indicate that we have reached a turning point – from this moment forward everything changes. There will often be big decisions to be made (which will later be executed with the Universe, the Arcanum which naturally follows this one). Sometimes we’ll find ourselves weary after struggling through a tough patch, but at the same time, now we see light at the end of the tunnel. When we make life-changing decisions, we will often spend quite a long time thinking before we make up our minds. And during that period, we often berate ourselves for our indecisiveness and uncertainty. When we do that, we are missing something so simple, and yet vitally important – that every decision we take has its moment. And if we are not sure now, perhaps that’s because we have not yet reached this particular decision’s moment in time. There will come a moment, if we are true to ourselves, when we know exactly what we need to do. And when that moment comes there will be no further prevarication, no doubt, no fear.

This is because time itself has enormous power. To find the right time for anything is a really useful life skill. When a choice comes to its own moment, it becomes empowered by its own momentum, and at that moment we can move forward with confidence. Sometimes, then, just of itself, this card will bring about changes on the day that it rules. Judgment or Rejuvenation is also about directing our lives in accordance with what we have already learned. So when this card rules the day, try examining your wealth of experience – in any area you choose to. Look at what you know, what you understand, what you need and how far you’ve already come. And give yourself a great big pat on the back! You already have a treasure house!

Portable Magic
Book Details
Portable Magic: This might be placed on either of the two signs ruled by Venus, which are Taurus and Libra, were it to be located according to the mechanical method already described. However, a more creative use of the modifier of the planet Venus, the trump the Empress, would be to locate it upon the sign of Aries, which is occupied by the zodiacal trump the Emperor. The sign Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, and Venus and Mars are natural lovers, as are the Empress and the Emperor.

Portable Magic: Which cardinal direction the triangle points toward will depend on the purpose of the ritual. It should be placed in the east, south, west, or north, to correspond with the element that best accords

Portable Magic: There is some evidence that at its earliest beginnings the Tarot had not four, but six court cards in each suit, and that subsequently two of them were dropped. In a hand painted Italian Tarot deck dated around 1441, each suit contains three pairs of court cards: King Queen, Knight Dame, and Page Maid. This may have been part of the original design for the Tarot, but if so, it did not survive more than a few decades, and was quickly replaced with the four court cards in each suit with which we are familiar.

Tarot Triumphs: The effects of this exercise may be enlivening, or even electrifying, but do not give them too much permanent importance. They help us get to know the life of the Tarot cards, but they are not necessarily a pointer to fixed interpretations. Again, making notes is useful, and it can be enlightening to file them away for a few months before reading them with fresh eyes. Not only are there likely to be details you have forgotten, but you may find that new associations are sparked off from what you have written, bursting into life like sparks from a smoldering coal.
