Reversed Cards: Do you like change? Most people do not. In fact, most people will resist change with everything they have. They will stick with dead-end jobs and lifeless relationships just so they dont have to deal with Deaths energy, change. All of this stems from one dominant emotion: fear. Fear of death is what keeps us in the shadow lands, which is ironic because death lives in the shadow lands. But why do people fight change so much? Because, for whatever reason, the excuses serve them. Every reason ‘why not’ serves a specific purpose, and even though it is sucking the life out of you, the payoff for not changing and living in fear seems to trump the unknown on the other side. If you have drawn this card in the shadow aspect, you need to take a good long look at all of the excuses you cling to that keep you from the life, relationship, or job you say you really want. All of this fear weakens you and keeps you small. But maybe thats the way you like it? Just know this: Death isnt afraid of the shadows. Which means there is nowhere to hide from the inevitable force of Deaths blow.
Tarot Triumphs: I was nervous and self-conscious when Raz and I met. He looked me up and down, did not seem impressed by what he saw, and began his Tarot discourse. He laid out the twenty-two Trump cards of the Major Arcana in a big circle on the floor, with the Fool at the center. When it was complete, we stood in the middle. There we were, in a large, empty room, enclosed by a magic circle of cards. It was not alarming, but it was eerie. There were no props or decorations to distract us, so the cards would be just what we made of them, right there in that space. As my second Tarot master, I now recall Raz as a dark, forceful character who considered himself an authority.

Tarot Card Meanings: Older sources, including traditional fortune tellers, argue against reading the cards for yourself.
