Faith, Spirituality Or Psychic Progression:

Know that spiritual growth is not a competition. When The reversed Five of Questing appears, people may try to convince you that you need to grow a certain way, at a certain speed, and so forth. Know, too, that spiritual growth can involve dealing with and accepting some apparent contradictions. Try to become more comfortable with paradox.

Card Meanings: Reaching Agreements, Extreme Aggression, Suppressed Temper, End Of Conflict/ Row/ Struggle, Battle Fatigue, Intimidation, Harmony, Compromise, Lack Of Competition, War, Finding Solutions, Peace, Shyness, Order, Fear Of Confrontation, Short Fuse, New Opportunities, Generosity, Looking For An Argument, Focus, Control, Cooperation

The Five of Questing often refers to competition. Usually this is in the career/work arena, but sometimes it can refer to romantic rivals. Don’t be afraid of competing, know that you have something to offer, and can be successful. But you have to try, to see results.

Book Details
Elements of the Psychic World: Conan Doyle was involved in a number of public controversies over spiritualism. In the late 1920s, while he was president of the London Spiritualist Alliance, a medium sanctioned by the Alliance was charged with fortune-telling (it was illegal at the time), and the Alliance was fined, £800. Conan Doyle wrote a public protest in The Times, suggesting that this was persecution of spiritualists. He also urged that the Fortune Telling Act be modified, and only six days before his death in July 1930, he led a petition to this effect.

Reversed Cards: The Death card is one of those cards few people like to see show up in their readings. I for one love when it shows up, as it lets me know exactly where I am in a cycle, which is more what this card is about than actual death. Things end. If they didn’t, other things, new things, and more exciting things could never begin. Death is a foundation principle of the physical world, which is probably why this card vibrates to the energy of the four, linking this card to the Emperor. The number of the card itself is thirteen, which in numerology is a karmic debt number. It is the number that lets us know we still have a lot of work ahead of us. It is the number of hard work, which makes this card even more fascinating because even though it signifies an ending, it also lets us know that, just like the Emperor, we still have a lot of hard work in front of us if we want to pull off our goals, dream, or whatever it is waiting for us in the new cycle. Death is the card that says, ‘Okay, you made it over this hill, but do you see those mountains?’

Tarot Triumphs: The Tarot, as far as I was concerned, was innocent of such taints. I ignored popular opinion and persisted until at last I had one, and then two, Tarot packs in my possession. I now owned both the Rider-Waite pack and the traditional set known as the Tarot of Marseilles. I still have them as part of my collection, well used but intact.

Tarot Card Meanings: Learning to read the cards, for yourself or for others, can be a time consuming task.  Decks which come with extremely detailed card meanings can take the longest to master.  However, this book aims to provide you with a good overview of the basic meanings that apply to all Tarot decks (and even standard playing cards which can also be used for reading the future).  The meanings in this book are kept purposefully short to enable you to easily learn the underlying meaning for each card.  This should enable you to quickly grasp the basics of reading any Tarot deck and allow you to take more time to learn and understand the more detailed meanings provided with the deck itself.
