Career, Work Or Retirement:

If you draw The reversed Eight of Pattern and are seeking employment, be prepared to impress prospective employers with what a hard worker you are/can be, and be prepared to back up your statements. If you are already employed, it’s possible that you may be asked to do more than is humanly possible. Give it your best and then some; before you will be given help, you are likely to have to show that you are doing 110% and it’s not possible for one person to do all that needs to be done. Trying to avoid tasks, now, however, can get you fired.

The Eight of Pattern can indicate a period of very hard work. This does not have to be a negative thing, but you must be prepared for it. Think about what it is that you are working for. This work can be personal or professional. Be prepared to ask for help if you need it.

Portable Magic
Book Details
Portable Magic: Some of the cards have hostile or destructive interpretations. The Tarot is a mirror of the entire world, with all its parts, both helpful and harmful. The evil of the world is reflected in the Tarot, along with the good. Ritual magic is morally neutral tool that can be used for both benevolent and malicious purposes. It is possible to employ these negative cards for works of evil magic, but no responsible magician will do so, if only because such malice tends to rebound on those who send it.

Reversed Cards: Are your ears turned on? This is a question my guides ask me if I am deliberately blocking an answer or information I really don’t want to hear. They will nudge me gently at first, but then the signs, messages, and bumps get bigger and bigger until I cannot help but pay attention. If you have received the Justice card in the blocked aspect, there is a chance you are playing the ‘actively ignore’ game as well. It is not that you cannot hear what is being said to you; it’s just that you don’t want to hear it. The truth is not providing you with what you want, so you have stuck cotton in your ears. The problem is that, eventually, you won’t be able to stay in Ignore Land for long. The master energy of this card will have its way. The truth will prevail, and you will have to face the reality of your current situation. Justice says you can do this openly and willingly or blindly and resentfully. How you engage with the truth of your current experience is up to you, but you can’t ignore it forever.

Tarot Triumphs: We can’t plan or manufacture this kind of initiation, though, because it’s dependent on time and circumstances. As a nineteen-year-old at the crossroads of my life, I was in prime position for such an experience. Jo, whom I had previously looked on as a cheerful acquaintance of little importance in my summer travels, then became the first Tarot master in my life. We have not been in touch since that summer, and he probably has no idea of the impact this reading made on me. Jo gave freely of his knowledge, which is the best anyone can do, and I benefited. He took me through the crack between the worlds. The cards imprinted themselves upon my mind and became lifelong companions.

Tarot Card Meanings: The Tarot; mysterious, esoteric and with an uncertain history.  Tarot cards appeared in Europe, as far as most sources can tell, sometime in the 14th century.  Where exactly they came from is uncertain with some sources suggesting they arrived via Egypt and others via Spain.  Whatever their route they seem to have come from the East, possible with origins in India or China.  Their arrival on mainland Europe coincides neatly with that of the first documented bands of ‘gypsies’, a word that has its own (incorrect) associations with Egypt.  Some scholars of the esoteric have suggested that the Tarot cards have links to ancient Egyptian religions.  However, it seems likely that the cards have links further afield and that it’s likely that groups of Roma gypsies encountered them on their own journeys from India to Europe.
