Reversed Cards: The mirror aspect of the Ace of Swords wants to show you how your idea may look from a different perspective. You may think that you have a wonderful idea on your hands, but what does it look like outside your head? When the Ace of Swords shows up in a reading, it asks you to explore other ways of looking at what is swimming around in your head. Ask friends, colleagues, and coworkers how they see this idea. Ask them how they would word it or perhaps change it. This level of diverse thinking is exactly what the mirrored aspect of the Ace of Swords is really all about.
Tarot Triumphs: Were some of the Tarot images drawn from the processions of Triumphs? The historical evidence is indicative, though not conclusive. But whether or not our Tarot cards of today crystallized as part of this medieval pageantry, the experience of visualizing the images in this way, as a procession of larger-than-life scenes, is a powerful one. I believe that this is likely to be one of the historical strands that led to the formation of the Tarot pack, even if it doesn’t account for all the Triumphs. When I first read about the possible link with triumphal parades, it struck me as absolutely right in the imaginative sense too. One of my own early encounters with the Tarot, which I’ll describe shortly, was of watching huge, colored images of the Tarot projected successively onto a screen, an occasion that made a deep impression on me. And if we put ourselves in the place of those onlookers, many of whom would have been illiterate, with little color or imagery in their daily lives, we can imagine how intensive the experience might have been for them.

One of the things I see the most in my private practice is people moving in the opposite direction of their dreams. They scream loudly what they want and even what they dont want, but the action, movement, and direction of their energy is always moving them further and further away from where they say they want to be.
