Finance, Money Matters Or Debt:
As with an upright meaning of this card, this is a time to play by the rules and to use down-to-earth, normal, traditional ways to handle your money. Gambling is not likely to pay off now in any form. Seek the advice of bankers and professional money managers and/or people with more experience dealing with money than you have. This is a good time for investments, provided they are conservative and stable. This is not a good time for taking chances with money or going for ‘unusual’ stocks, bonds, etc.
Card Meanings: Unconventional Relationships, Vulnerability, Unorthodoxy, Challenging Tradition, Foolish Generosity, Unconventionality, Frailty, Unconventional Lifestyles, Reversed Roles, Impotence
The Hierophant is very much about ‘doing the right thing.’ You may be struggling with an issue and are unsure about what is ‘right’ for you to do. Know that the answers are within you. Remember that the ‘right’ thing is what is right for you also.

Here are some snippets from a few of my favorite books
Angel Encyclopedia: One of the FALLEN ANGELS and 72 spirits of SOLOMON. Shax is a marquis who comes in the form of a stork and speaks with a hoarse voice. He destroys the eyesight, hearing, and understanding of any person upon command. He steals money from kings and then returns it in 1,200 years. After he is commanded into the magicians triangle, Shax will transport anything; otherwise, he will be deceptive. Upon command he will steal horses. He will find all hidden things unless they are being kept by evil spirits. He gives good FAMILIARS. He commands 30 legions.

Reversed Cards: If the Hierophant is the teacher and spiritual guide for our outer journey, then the Hermit is the guide to the inner one. The Hermit represents the singular journey, the journey of self. A leader with no followers. Yet he is more than willing to offer guidance and to console if and when he is asked. Once your answer has been given, you will be asked to leave. Solitude and seclusion are the Hermits sanctuary, and when either of these two elements is interrupted or interfered with, the Hermit becomes unbalanced and out of power. Although it is normal for the Hermit to interact and engage with others, it is not normal for him to stay in this state for an extended period of time. This is echoed in the number to which he vibrates to, the nine. The nine marks the end of a cycle or journey. It shows a point of expansion at a karmic soul level. It is the number to which we aspire so we can move on to the next level of awakening and enlightenment. The lamp in the Hermits hand can represent the spark of enlightenment, the karmic light of the awakened guru.
Tarot Triumphs: Now we move on to a new layout for Tarot reading, one that takes us from using three or four cards to a spread involving seven cards from the Tarot Triumphs. As well as being a useful Tarot layout in its own right, it offers practice in reading from a larger number of cards, preparing the way for the Fool’s Mirror spread in the next chapter, which uses all twenty-two Trumps. And as a structured layout, with each card placed in order in a designated position, it chimes in with the general theme of pattern and sequence in this chapter.

Reversed Cards: This card has always had an ambiguous feel to it. I mean, are we inside the garden or are we outside? If we are outside of the garden, then who or what is being protected with the nine pentacles? This question becomes even more relevant in this aspect, as you are feeling the need to protect your resources or garden of abundance. Now may not be the time to give all your secrets away or share your resources. Instead, keep them somewhere safe and sound. Like behind a heavily locked Nine of Pentacles gate.
