Faith, Spirituality Or Psychic Progression:
It’s very likely that at this time a person will come into your life who is like a mentor or teacher even if they don’t ‘teach’ you directly. You will still learn from them on several levels. Honor the need that you may be having to withdraw to a degree from ordinary life – It won’t last forever. You will soon be feeling much more social, so don’t push yourself now to be around a lot of people unless it is absolutely necessary. You will likely emerge from this month feeling refreshed and renewed, particularly on a spiritual level.
Card Meanings: Caution, Prudence, Soul Searching, Introspection, Withdrawal, Vigilance, Spiritual Enlightenment, Inner Guidance, Self-Reflection, Contemplation, Inner Strength
The Hermit is an extremely spiritual card, and often has to do with institutions and large organizations – everything from a bank to the entire Christian Church. This card indicates spirituality even if you are an atheist. It’s in whatever sense the word ‘spirit’ makes sense to you, even if for you ‘spirit’ equates to ’emotion.’ You may be trying hard to figure out what the ‘truth’ is about someone (or some matter), don’t feel that you have to do it all on your own, ask for help if you need it to gain different perspectives, more information, etc.

Here are some snippets from a few of my favorite books
Portable Magic: The history of the Order presented to members at the time of their initiation may have been merely a fiction designed to lend it a greater authority, but the system of magic it taught was firmly based on the magical methods of the Renaissance supplemented by the more recent teachings of French occultists of the nineteenth century, most notable among them Eliphas Levi. Had this been the only sources of its teachings, the Golden Dawn might have remained merely a curious social club for antiquarians of the occult, but the synthesis of its teachings was the result of psychic communications from a group of spiritual beings known as the Secret Chiefs.

Complete Book of Tarot: Waite (1911): The effigy of a knight in the attitude of prayer, at full length upon his tomb. Divinatory Meanings: Vigilance, retreat, solitude, hermits repose, exile, tomb and coffin; (R) wise administration, circumspection, economy, avarice, precaution, testament.
Tarot Triumphs: 1 When I was studying traditional Russian arts and crafts, I visited one of the longest-running matryoshka, or Russian nesting doll, workshops at Semyonov. The dolls were painted with very simple designs without a great deal of variation, but the women artists were at pains to explain that every face on the dolls was important to them. They wanted each face to look kind. They were also proud to explain the simple symbols on the dollsbirds for happiness, flowers for beauty, and so on. Their artistic role in the creation of the dolls was not highly skilled or imaginative, but they entered into it with good intent, to make something that had a presence and was not just a slavish reproduction. Something similar may have happened in the Tarot ateliers, and many of the colorists could have taken just the same kind of approach.

Tarot Triumphs: Standing upright, holding a lighted lantern, the Hermit is both imposing and humble. He wears a rough, hooded cloak and is bearded, with long locks. In his other hand, he holds a wooden staff. These are the symbols of his role. He does not have the ceremonial regalia of bishops or kings, but he has his own authority and wisdom, derived from the life of poverty and contemplation. Some in the crowd would like to bring their questions to him, to benefit from his insight. They know that hermits, though solitary, can be consulted. He is also a reminder of the need for charity that should be given not only to the poor but also to those who pray for the welfare of humankind.
