Career, Work Or Retirement:

You should be cautiously optimistic when the Six of Wands appears reversed. If you are currently employed, although your work is appreciated and valued in general, there may be at least one person who for no good reason is dishonest or working against you. Open conflict is not going to help your case, this is more of a ‘kill them with kindness’ situation. If looking for work, don’t believe everything you hear. Still, your job hunt is likely to be more successful more quickly than you would expect when this card appears.

Card Meanings: Broken Promises, Pride In Riches, Failure, Fame Hungry, Egotistical, Being Hunted, Postponement, Pride Before A Fall, Treachery, Disgrace, Losing, Ill-Will, Disadvantage, Lack Of Achievement/Recognition/ Support/ Confidence/ Endurance, Diva, Disloyalty, Mob/ Pack Mentality, Bad News, Weakness, Arrogant, Being A Follower, Disappointment

Book Details
World of Psychics: The Moon rules your subconscious. She is one of our oldest symbols and our Earth’s constant companion, reminding us of our animal side every night as her waxing and waning affect our emotions and our moods. The Tarot card shows wolves guarding the doorway to the subconscious. Are you brave enough to walk past them, knowing you have every right to see what lies beyond? You should know that as soon as night falls, light is on its way. This is the cycle of our outer world and our inner one.

Portable Magic: The three founders were men of curious contrasts. Dr. William Robert Woodman (182891) was a senior Freemason of great authority who died shortly after the founding of the Golden Dawn, and so played little part in the development of its system of magic. He possessed a knowledge of Hebrew and the Kabbalah, and may have been in part responsible for the inclusion of the Kabbalah in the magic of the Golden Dawn. The other two remained close friends and worked together for many years. Each brought his unique talents forward in support of the Order. Dr. William Wynn Westcott (18481925) was by profession a London coroner. He possessed an extensive knowledge for his day of classical works on Hermetism and Greek philosophy. It is mainly due to his scholarship that the Kabbalah played so important a role in the Golden Dawn. Samuel Liddell Mathers (18541918), who called himself ‘MacGregor’ Mathers on the fanciful notion that he was descended from the Scottish royal bloodline, was a diligent seeker after occult manuscripts in the libraries of England and France. He spent much of his time immediately prior to the founding of the Order in the Reading Room of the British Museum, poring over crabbed, handwritten grimoires. It is to Mathers that the Golden Dawn owes its complex symbolic rituals and its eclectic blend of practical magic.

Complete Book of Tarot: Knights correspond to the element Fire, suggesting that action, enterprise, excitement, and novelty are coming into your life. When upright, the Knight of Pentacles represents a patient and hardworking individual whose chief aim is in getting the job done right. His main focus is on financial and material well-being so that at times he may seem emotionally unavailable as he spends most of his time working. Nonetheless, he is dependable and trustworthy—a good provider—and he will offer the querent a strong sense of security.
