36-Ace of Primordialism – Reversed Mage Deck

Your Chosen Card – Ace of Chalices Reversed Mage Deck

When reversed, the watery Ace of Cups hints at delays or difficulties in beginning a new love relationship or initiating a creative project. This can result in a sense of dissatisfaction, instability, and loneliness. Some type of overabundance in the boundlessness of the element Water may be interfering with your ability to focus. Water is a necessary element for life and continued growth, but the myth of Noah and the Great Flood teaches us that an excess of water can act as a destructive force.

Keywords Reversed: Instability, changeability, excess, infertility, loneliness, inconstancy, dissatisfaction, inadequate nourishment.

Timing: Astrologically, Water is linked to summertime.
Astrology: Root-force of elemental Water, the element associated with the season of summer.
Number Symbolism: 1 – initial spark, will, creation, beginnings, new life.

Ace Of Cups: Eat, Drink, And Be Merry As Love Blossoms

When Ace of Chalices is reversed you can pretty much take it that life is going well but that’s when life takes us by surprise.  If Ace of Chalices is unclear it may help to choose a card from the Major Arcana to provide more insight into what it is Ace of Chalices is trying to tell you.  If you had a particular issue in  mind, or want to seek clarification on something else, you can also choose again to get more guidance.

Portable Magic: half the base of the Ace of Swords. The two tarot cards will be at a right angle to each other. Thirdly, lay the Ace of Cups pointing toward the west in such a way that half the base of the card touches and overlaps half the base of the Ace of Wands. It will be at a right angle to the Ace of Wands. Finally, lay the Ace of Pentacles pointing toward the north so that half its base touches and overlaps half the base of the Ace of Cups. The other half of the base of the Ace of Pentacles is slid under half the base of the Ace of Swords.

Reversed Cards: All work and no play makes you a workaholic! I have always thought that the reversed aspect of this card is someone who has allowed their work to be the one and only focus of their lives or needs to be the best at their work. Here in the blocked aspect I think we can take this even further and say that right now work has become your way of denying what else is going on in your life. Remember, eights like to expand. They like to grow and roam free with force and purpose, and when one area of their life feels restricted and uncomfortable, it is very easy for the eight to find another area to throw itself into. Avoidance and denial never make anything better; they merely put off the inevitable.
